That Was The Week That Was [That Was The Week That Was] (also infml TW3)
a popular ↑satirical programme on British television (1962–3). It was broadcast live late on Saturday nights on ↑BBC, and was presented by David Frost. It was the first British television programme to make fun of the ↑Establishment and to make jokes that were critical of politicians. It caused much public debate and was criticized by several leading politicians. Later ↑satirical programmes were influenced by its style.
